Step into the world of Rolinda: Bella Rotta

Bella Rotta, meaning "Beautifully Broken" in Italian, embodies intentional brokenness in my art. I believe brokenness is the source of great beauty—which is why I break my paintings.

Initially, I struggled with perfectionism, which led to feelings of hopelessness and isolation, but I know that God does not make mistakes. It was through my brokenness that God helped me find a path to wholeness and inspired me to develop my unique style: Bella Rotta. This approach liberated me from perfectionism and allowed me to embrace beauty in imperfection...

EXPLORE THE MOVEMENT

Bella Rotta freed me from despair. I was liberated from the prison of perfectionism. My soul rebooted. I learned how to rest and was filled with vitality. My work gave me purpose. I began to play again and found joy. I discovered my muse, and creativity flowed. I started living again. As light began to shine through my cracks, I was finally safe to be Beautiful As Is.

Bella Rotta became my muse. Now, I fill my days bringing the beauty, joy, and freedom of Bella Rotta to my collectors through a co-creation experience. Whether you're looking to heal through creating, bring the beauty of the outside in, or simply want a unique piece of art for your home. Your story becomes the muse.

Bella Rotta is a physical reminder that we are all Beautiful As Is.

There are three layers of
originality in Bella Rotta

There are three elements: the crust, the special canvas which I handcraft, and the oil paint. These come together to make each Bella Rotta piece truly unique. It’s this combination that ensures the work stands out in any collection.

But beyond the technique, what makes Bella Rotta most meaningful is the philosophy behind it.

HERE'S THE WHY

I create a canvas that is flexible. Fragile, even. On its own, it would fall apart. I intentionally fracture and break it, knowing it cannot hold together by itself. So I build a wooden panel beneath it. That panel becomes the foundation, giving strength and structure to something delicate.

This is the heart of Bella Rotta.

The canvas represents us. Alone, isolated, we will break and fall apart. But when we’re supported by family, friends, and community and God, we find beauty together. We are safe in our brokenness.

That’s why I call it Bella Rotta: Beautifully Broken.
